SHADES OF ANDY:

Art Hedy Klineman / Inspiration Andy Warhol

We are pleased to announce our new exhibition SHADES OF ANDY: Art Hedy Klineman / Inspiration Andy Warhol at Andrea S. Keogh Art & Design, LLC at 59 Bellevue Avenue in Newport. In the past few years there has been a resurgence of interest in the Art, Fashion and Music of the 1970’s and 1980’s. For many, Andy Warhol embodies those Studio 54 years. Warhol’s friend and fellow artist, Hedy Klineman, was part of that epic and intoxicating scene.

SHADES OF ANDY features screen prints by Klineman from the 1980’s – 2000’s. Some are of Andy Warhol’s glasses, others reflect Klineman’s personal interest in Buddhism and African sculpture. While Klineman’s technique is inspired by Warhol, the subject matter is uniquely hers. All of the screen prints are brightly colored, superbly executed, large and POP.

The exhibition is accompanied by a specially produced video interview with Klineman. She reminisces about her friendship and experiences with Warhol during those remarkable Studio 54 years in New York City.
