According to Pampillonia Jewelers, now of Bethesda, MD renowned jeweler Maurice Guyot, who also worked for Cartier, created animal brooches for them. Other animals in Guyot’s menagerie included an elephant, a fox, a pelican, a tiger and a fish. The Road Runner is particularly whimsical. Like Guyot’s other brooches, the craftsmanship is impeccable and the animals are lively and sympathetic.
