About the Artist

New York artist Hedy Klineman celebrates her friendship with Andy Warhol in this dynamic screen-print. Warhol introduced her to the colorful screen-printing medium, contributing his glasses for her series Fashion Portraits, executed in the 1980s. Working with Warhol’s master printer, Rupert Smith, Klineman’s dynamic image captured the essence of the Pop genius whose vision exploded the world of contemporary art.

Rupert Smith began working with Warhol in 1974, first assisting Warhol with his hand-painted flower series, and continued to print Warhol’s images until the printer’s death in 1989. Smith also worked with contemporary notables, Rauchenberg, Johns and Stella. The screen print is on archival paper, 34 x 40 inches, signed by the artist, and stamped with Warhol’s master printer Rupert Smith’s insignia.
