Augustin Julia-Plana was partners with Simon Schlegel in the successful jewelry firm Schlegel & Plana in Bern, Switzerland. Julia-Plana was the designer and Schlegel the manufacturer. Julia-Plana was the recipient of numerous awards for his work including "The Jewel of the Year" in 1962, three international awards in 1963, 1965, and the coveted Diamonds International Award in 1967.
