BOB KNOX

Bob Knox was born in New York City and raised in New England. He studied art at the L'Ecole des Beaux Arts in Rennes, France and then continued his education at Wesleyan University. A prolific painter, Bob's work often projects and deep sense of irony and visual metaphor. His layered paintings build a story using everything from classic objects, interior design and historical art references to engage and invite the viewer into his private world.

During his graphic art years (1980-1996), Bob became famous for his socially relevant and conceptual New Yorker Magazine covers. He produced over twenty covers. In addition to his magazine work, he also wrote and illustrated several best selling children's books published by Rizzoli.

Most recently Bob Knox has been represented by the Jack Shainman Gallery in New York City and Andrea S. Keogh in Newport, RI. The artist currently resides in Connecticut with his wife Dorothee and his dog Bodhi. He paints every day.
